July 6, 2012…Lucy Peacock’s cabaret series Late Night with Lucy has been so popular with patrons that it is officially sold out. The first performance of the eight-night summer series begins at the Festival’s new Studio Theatre Annex space tonight at 11:30 p.m.
The cabaret-style evening filled with music, stories and laughter is a celebration of Ms. Peacock’s 25 seasons at the Festival. Most Friday nights in July and August the after-hours series will invite ticket-holders to watch Ms Peacock and several invited artists and friends share their talents and passions in a casual setting.
“Lucy has such an insatiable creative spirit,” says Artistic Director Des McAnuff. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with her on three occasions and her energy and warmth are both luminous and inspirational. I am so pleased the Festival is able to host this fun and joyful cabaret series as part of our 60th season.”
“I am very excited to attend this series,” says General Director Antoni Cimolino. “To watch these artists perform material of their own choosing, that they’re passionate about and that speaks to them, will be a real treat for those in attendance. This light-hearted and fun-filled evening will undoubtedly be an entertaining and jubilant celebration of music and theatre.”
Artists joining Ms Peacock this evening are:
Anna Atkinson, Richard Binsley, Laura Burton, Laura Condlln, Shawn DeSouza, Ryan Field, Graham Hargrove, David Keeley, Aidan Keeley, Claire Lautier, Ken MacDonald, Nora McLennan, Alon Nashman and Geraint Wyn Davies.
