As a Props Builder you should have a broad range of props construction experience in professional theatre. You are required to have 8+ years of experience in theatrical stage upholstery. You should be organized, pay great attention to detail and possess effective time management skills. The ability to troubleshoot and work well under pressure with a sense of humour would be an asset.
As the successful Props Builder you will be required to interact with other production staff, designers, and craftspeople, therefore good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment is essential. This position can be physically strenuous and require some heavy lifting. You will have a post secondary education in Fine Arts or Theatre Production.
A portfolio demonstrating skills and a list of three (3) professional references is required.
This position would be a twenty (20) week contract beginning mid-January 2012.
